Subject: Phone Scams
Prowers County has been receiving a high number of phone scams recently. The latest has been somebody posing as a current Prowers County Deputy, advising that a warrant has been issued for the specific individual. Individuals are then instructed to send a certain amount of money to take care of the warrant or they will be arrested. Law Enforcement does not typically call people to inform them of active warrants and they will never ask the individual to send them money in order to quash or remove the warrant.
This has also occurred in several other counties. Please do not send any money to these individuals and contact your local Law Enforcement Agency.
